This trekking is among the most loved by those looking for the distance from tourist areas, it went to families with children used to walking. This excursion is considered the best alternative to the summit craters of Etna precisely because you will visit craters of size comparable to the top ones. The meeting with the guide is scheduled in Piano Provenzana at 7: 45. You will be assisted and prepared with the security equipment necessary to make the excursion helped by your guide. After that you will climb on 4×4 special means up to an altitude of 2830 meters, where you will carry out a guided walk towards the Bove Valley near the volcanological observatory. After the walk on board the 4×4 vehicle, you will reach 2600m altitude where the downhill trekking will be carried out for one of the most fascinating and uncontaminated areas of Etna, caves will be seen, the large Rift that cuts the oriental side of the volcano and the craters of the recent Eruptions, starting from 1600, 1809, 1874,1879, 1975, 1980/81,2002. The view will be fascinating right above the numerous craters of 2002 and then reaches downhill through volcanic ash channels the starting point.

WARNINGS

  • Also suitable for children over 7 years of age.
  • Not recommended for pregnant women over 4 months of pregnancy.
  • The experience is not recommended for those who do little physical activity.
  • Not recommended for those suffering from dizziness, heart problems, hypertension or respiratory
  • It is recommended that participants are used to carrying out physical activities regularly.
  • Important to identify and always communicate any guidance: insecurities, physical or health problems.
  • The route develops at high altitude which facilitates sensations of fatigue or respiratory breathlessness.
  • Attention is required as the route runs along ridges/crater edges and volcanic soil that is unstable at times.
  • Not recommended for those suffering from mental diseases (psychiatric or psychological) with emotional and/or behavior disorders.
  • We recommend that you equip yourself with chains (on board) or thermal tyres, useful in case of snow on the road and mandatory from 15 November to 15 April along arterial roads located at altitudes above 500 m.
  • The guide can take responsibility for suspending or postponed the excursion in the event of force majeure events such as: bad weather, volcanic eruption, health problems of the guide, which can affect the continuation of the experience or compromise the safety of individuals or the group .
